The Portland chapter of Oregon Women in Timber hosted its first Forest Festive at the World Forestry Center last weekend! Hundreds of visitors braved the wet weather to make wreaths and ornaments, shop for a Christmas tree, and learn more about the diverse benefits of trees and working forests.
To help celebrate, Hampton Lumber sponsored a day of free admission at the Forest Discovery Museum! Friends at the event included Parr, Oregon Forest Resources Institute, Trajectory NW, Society of American Foresters, Friends of Trees, Oregon Forests Forever, and Timber Joey!

The Portland chapter of Oregon Women in Timber hosted its first Forest Festive at the World Forestry Center last weekend! Hundreds of visitors braved the wet weather to make wreaths and ornaments, shop for a Christmas tree, and learn more about the diverse benefits of trees and working forests.

Some folks from our Portland office spent last Friday volunteering with Sleep in Heavenly Peace - OR, Portland Metro, an organization that builds and delivers beds to children in need. Their motto: "No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!" Over the course of an few hours, we built nearly 20 beds using Hampton donated lumber! Thanks to SHP for the service you provide and thanks to our Portland employees for taking the time to support local families in need!

Au sud de l`Oregon au état unis, les arbres du terrain de Hampton Lumber forment un smiley géant chaque automne. En 2011, Hampton Lumber a créé ce motif en plantant un mélange de sapins de Douglas et de mélèzes lors d`un reboisement de la zone. Les mélèzes sont des conifères dont les aiguilles jaunissent et tombent en automne. Le douglas, quant à lui, constitue les yeux et la bouche. Le visage souriant devrait réapparaître chaque automne pendant les 30 à 50 prochaines années, jusqu`à ce que les arbres soient prêts à être récoltés pour le bois d`œuvre.

It’s the work of the hamptonlumber #HamptonLumber company who in 2011 planted Larch trees in a smiley shape in the middle of a Douglas Fir forest.
