Our team of over 1,700 employees operates nine sawmills in Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia and markets wood products all over the world. We’re also forestland owners. Our team of professional foresters manages roughly 290,000 acres of Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)-certified timberland in Oregon and Washington.

Our Leadership
Whether it’s in the mill, the forest or the corporate office, we all embody the spirit and conviction of the Hampton legacy. Our drive to find a better way every day comes from a deep-rooted sense of integrity, teamwork, equity and responsibility to our communities.
Randy joined Hampton in 2023 with over 25 years of experience in the Pacific Northwest wood products industry. Raised in Washington’s Cowlitz Valley, Randy has deep roots in the forest sector. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington State University and holds an MS in Forest Economics from Oregon State University and an MS in Agricultural Economics from the University of Illinois. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, live music, and doing most anything outdoors.
Bret Griffin
Senior Vice President of Manufacturing
Bret is Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and oversees operations at Hampton’s nine sawmills. Bret has over 30 years of sawmill experience and formerly served as plant manager at Hampton’s mills in Willamina and Warrenton. An avid and competitive gardener, Bret is also founder of the company-wide tomato growing competition.
Dave Kunert
Vice President of Resources
Dave joined Hampton in 1998 and served as division forester and later procurement manager before assuming the role of VP of Resources in 2024. Prior to joining Hampton, Dave received a degree in forest engineering from Oregon State University and worked as a forester for the Oregon Department of Forestry. Dave was raised on a cattle ranch near Sisters, OR but has spent the last two decades with his family in Tillamook, OR.
Kristin Rasmussen
Director of Public Affairs & Communications
Kristin joined Hampton in 2015 with a background in coastal community development, aquaculture, and public and congressional affairs. She is an alumna of the University of Oregon and holds a Master’s degree in International Development with an emphasis on environmental conflict resolution from American University in Washington, D.C. Kristin was born and raised on the central Oregon Coast in a small timber and fishing community and now resides with her family and English shepherd, Bogart in Portland, OR.
Heath Curtiss
Vice President of Legal & Government Affairs
Heath has served as Vice President of Legal and Government Affairs at Hampton since 2018. Originally from Joseph, OR, Heath has spent his career working on environmental, land use, and natural resources issues in Oregon. He has an environmental law degree from Lewis and Clark Law School and a B.S. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from Oregon State. In his free-time, Heath enjoys spending time with his family and mountain biking through Pacific Northwest forests.
Brian Vetrone
Treasurer & Vice President of Finance
Brian started his career as a CPA in public accounting and has been with Hampton since 2007. He has a Business Administration degree from California State University, Long Beach, but has spent most of his career in the Portland area. Brian is an avid outdoor enthusiast, spending much of his free time biking, skiing, and surfing here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and, when possible, traveling abroad.
Chris Walton
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Chris started out in public accounting before joining Hampton in 1997. He brings operational experience to his position having previously managed our distribution businesses as well as our sawmill in Willamina. Chris and his family spend most of their free time in the mountains pursuing outdoor adventures. Competitive by nature, Chris is an avid marathoner and triathlete.
Denise Lanz
Senior Director of Operational Excellence
Raised in her family’s manufacturing business, Denise has a lifetime of experience in manufacturing. Denise joined Hampton in 2015 and champions the company’s commitment to “finding a better way every day”, inspiring and guiding teams to attain sustainable improvements in all aspects of our business. Denise and her husband spend their free time traveling, golfing, fishing, hiking, skiing, wine tasting and kicking back on their patio with Golden Retriever, ‘Charlie Sunset’.
Mark Porter
President of Sales
Mark is President of Hampton Lumber Sales, which oversees worldwide lumber and panel sales for the company. He has more than 30 years of experience in the lumber business and has been with Hampton since 1988. Mark is also an avid cyclist and known for his deep experiential knowledge of Portland’s restaurant culture.
Nikki Commerford
Assistant Secretary
Nikki Commerford joined Hampton in November of 2012. A lifelong Oregonian and native of Willamina, Nikki has “sawdust in her veins.” Both parents spent their careers at the Hampton mill in Willamina. Away from work, Nikki enjoys spending time with her husband and cats, reading, hiking, and spending as much time as possible outdoors.
Amy Cordova
HR Business Partner
Amy joined Hampton in 2024 and works closely with our U.S. sawmills while also overseeing HR functions at our corporate and forestry offices. Amy holds a BA in Business Administration & Management from Washington State University. Originally from the Bay Area in California, Amy currently lives in Tigard, Oregon with her family.
Griffin Augustin
Senior Director of Canadian Operations
Griffin brings over 30 years of forest industry experience. He joined Hampton in 2018 through our subsidiary, TRAPA Forest Products as VP of Business Development, and advanced to Senior Director of Canadian Operations in 2024. Raised in British Columbia’s interior, his passion for the industry and commitment to community collaboration is deeply rooted. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, or hiking with his family.
